When trying to send mail you get a message

RCPT TO <<EMAIL ADDRESS>> generated following response:
553 Sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)

The problem could occus in Outlook or Evolution or any email client. When it occurred to me it was cause by a rather foolish set up of my email client - I had not entered a password for the SMTP field, and had not ticked the box that a authentication was required.

The procedure to fix varies on whatever program you are using to send mail. In my case it's Evolution mail, but the steps will be similar.

1. Go 'Edit' -> Preferenses

2. Select the email address that caused the problem

3. Click edit on the right hand side

4. Select the 'Sending Email tab'

5. Tick the box 'Server requires Authentication

6. The cursor jumps to the bottom. Enter your email user name. E.g test@ hello wworld.com

7. Tick 'Remember Password' if you want the program to remember the password.

8. Click 'OK'.

Now attempt to send/receive emails again. this time your program should ask you for your password.  The problem **should** disappear!
